You do not need an account to read anything on this site. Our SkillUp courses and articles are free and open to everyone.
When you read a course chapter we record that it was read, along with your IP address, so we can understand which material is useful. We do not sell that data, we do not use it for advertising, and we delete it on a fixed schedule.

We record which course and chapter was opened, the date and time, your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and the page you arrived from. Your IP address is later resolved to an approximate location — country, city, and internet provider. We do not attempt to determine a precise location, and we do not combine this with any other source to identify you.
If you email or call us, we keep that correspondence so we can answer you. We use it for nothing else.
Our web server records ordinary request logs, which include IP addresses. These exist to diagnose faults and identify abuse.
We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. We do not build profiles of individual readers. We do not sell or share your data with data brokers. Code you write in the in-browser editor on a course page runs entirely on your own machine and is never sent to us.
To understand which courses and chapters are actually read, so we know what to improve and what to write next; to see roughly where our readers are, so we can serve them from a sensible location; and to detect abuse such as automated scraping that would degrade the site for everyone.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interest: understanding how freely published material is used, in a way that does not require identifying anyone. Where consent is required by law in your jurisdiction, we rely on consent instead.
Course access records, including IP addresses and resolved locations, are deleted automatically after 400 days. This is enforced by a scheduled job, not by manual housekeeping.
Aggregate statistics — counts per course, per chapter and per country — are kept beyond that point. Those contain no IP address and no information about any individual reader.
The site runs on Google Cloud Platform, which hosts our server and stores our data.
To convert an IP address into an approximate location we send that address to a geolocation service. Nothing else about you is sent with it, and we do not send the addresses of visitors who never open a course chapter.
We do not otherwise disclose personal data, except where we are legally required to.
Depending on where you live — including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and the EU and UK GDPR — you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our processing it.
Email contactus@steleios.com and we will respond within 30 days. One practical note, in the interest of being straightforward: because we deliberately do not identify our readers, the only thing that links a record to you is your IP address. To act on a request we will need you to tell us the address and the approximate dates involved.
If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
